challenge One of the leading European banks is challenged by having to compete with other banks with very similar services and products. In this initial position human resources become increasingly important with high professionalism and supreme customer orientation as key distinguishing feature. Moreover, a corporate survey revealed an increasing demand of employees for empowerment and a clear culture of responsibility which grants more responsibility for efficient procedures to managers and direct reports.
The challenge emerging from this demand was to implement a feedback and performance culture by a forward-looking personnel development. This should be based on providing managers with an instrument for periodic potential evaluation and career planning for their direct reports. The process has to make sure that direct reports get feedback on their performance and potential periodically and that agreements on individual development plans are mutually confirmed.
solution Initially, cut-e conceptualized and developed together with the client measurement tools for periodic appraisals. Based on these tools cut-e implemented a highly integrated skill management system that is completely embedded into the existing SAP HR-platform of the client. Key features of this interactive online system are an automated workflow with adaptive measurement tools for performance and potential evaluations, a self-service 360° feedback system and online measurement tools for continuous stock taking of in-house skills.
benefit The integrated skill management system ensures an efficient annual completion of the individual appraisals and development planning. The online measurement tools to test existing skills are used by the management to have continuously an exact overview on the existing in-house skills sets. The self-service online skill tests are used simultaneously by the staff for their personal career planning. Several indicators of the bank show that since launch of the integrated skill management system performance ratings and employee satisfaction is strictly improving.
