Denise works as an organisational consultant. She is a trained organisational psychologist and has many years experience consulting to the both the private and public sector, in Ireland, Europe and Asia Pacific. She has built a reputation as being client focused and flexible, employing best practice methods in assessment and competency design in order to improve individual and organisational performance.

Denise Joined SHL Ireland in 1999 as an consultant working on a range of core assessment and development programmes and services, with a particular focus on competencies, recruitment strategies and management assessment and development she broadened and deepened her experience through secondments in Europe and Asia.

Recent projects that Denise has managed include:

  • Implementation of KPI and Competency based performance management system in an indigenous Irish multinational. The goal of the project was to improve the functioning of management measurement systems and increase clarity in terms of business planning. The project delivered an improved business planning process, along and more consistent management practices leading to improved organisational functioning.
  • The design & assessment of competencies for regional managers in a pharmaceutical company based in India. The project aim was to aid succession planning and management development in this multi-site organisation.
  • The assessment of senior managers in a multinational German technology firm to identify 'high potential' for succession and fast tracking to directorship purposes. Denise was part of the project team that worked with the international internal candidates to identify 'high potential' over a two day assessment process. All candidates were given intensive coaching and feedback with the successful candidates being assigned to prestigious assignments internationally.
  • The use of competency identification and assessment for restructuring purposes in a hostile IR environment. Denise provided the technical input that allowed the most modern of assessment methods to be used in order to restructure this Irish based organisation, the project team consisted of legal, finance & IR experts with Denise providing the specialist psychometric input.

Denise graduated from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in 1999 with a masters degree in Organisational psychology, she is a member of both the British Psychological Society and the Psychological Society of Ireland. Prior to obtaining her masters Denise worked in industry as a HR professional. When not working hard on behalf of her clients, Denise works hard at enjoying the finer things in life including good wine and good food - for balance she studies and practices yoga.
